Organising Records<\/span><\/span><\/h2><\/div><\/div>

At TOCAH (Treasury of Country Australian History Inc), we collect, protect, and organise community history so it can be found, trusted, and shared\u2014now and into the future. This page explains how we manage records that are donated, contributed, or created through our projects.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>

What we collect<\/span><\/h2>\n

TOCAH\u2019s collection includes a wide range of historical material, such as:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Intake and review<\/span><\/h3>\n

    When TOCAH receives a contribution, we follow a simple intake process so nothing is lost or misattributed.<\/span><\/p>\n

      What the item is, and any story or context that came with it<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Any restrictions or permissions (privacy, publishing, cultural sensitivity)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Where required, TOCAH may consult with the contributor to clarify details before publishing or archiving.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

      Accessioning and identification<\/span><\/h3>\n

      Each accepted item is <\/span>assigned an internal reference<\/span><\/strong> so it can be tracked through its lifecycle (intake \u2192 cataloguing \u2192 storage \u2192 publication).<\/span><\/p>\n

      This helps TOCAH:<\/span><\/p>\n

            Many records are shared through TOCAH\u2019s online archive and story categories. Before publishing, we check:<\/span><\/p>\n
