Mr. and Mrs. G. Brinkley, of Ferndale, Diddillibah road, via Woombye. Mr Brinkley was born in, Suffolk, England, on May 29, 1834, and his wife was born at Ipswich, Suffolk, on November 5, 1836. They were married at Ipswich, England on May 20, 1854, and 13 children were born to them, of whom three sons and three daughters are living.
There are also 34 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Mr Brinkley served in the East Suffolk Artillery during the Prussian war. He joined the London police in 1862. In 1866 Mr. and Mrs. Brinkley came to Queensland in the Eastern Empire and two years later Mr. Brinkley joined the Queensland Police Force with which he remained till 1884, when he met with an accident and retired on a pension. He then took up a selection and has lived on it ever since.

OBITUARY
MRS. E. BRINKLEY.
WOOMBYE, Wednesday. The death occurred last Friday of Mrs. Emma Brinkley, relict of Mr.George Brinkley. The late Mrs. Brinkley, who was in her 89th year, was born in Suffolk, England, and arrived in Queensland, accompanied by her husband, in the sailing ship Eastern Empire, 60 years ago.
After 17 years residence in Brisbane, Mrs. Brinkley selected land in this district, where she resided up to the time if her death. She is survived by three sons, Messrs. J. E. and C. H. Brinkley (Diddillibah), and Mr. W. Brinkley, (Pialba), and three daughters, Mrs. W. Turner (Paddington, Brisbane), Mrs. R. Campbell (Nikenbah, N.S.W.), and Mrs. J. Thompson (Amamoor).
